This is not a sales call.

It is an independent assessment of your options.

60 minutes with a senior advisor. A written strategy delivered within 48 hours. No preferred universities. No commissions. Just the clearest possible picture of where you should apply and why.

First Consultation

€249

For students and families approaching route.doctor for the first time. A complete, standalone service. One session is enough for most students.

Additional Consultation

€149

For returning clients whose circumstances have changed — different grades received, a waitlist situation, a change in career direction, or simply a need to revisit the strategy after time has passed.

What makes this different

We have no preferred university.

Every application service, every university recruiter, every commission-based advisor in this market earns money when you enrol at a specific institution. Their income depends on where you go. Ours does not.

The fee you pay for a route.doctor consultation is identical regardless of which university we recommend, whether that university costs €5,000 a year or €18,000 a year, whether you end up applying through an agency or directly, and whether you are accepted or not.

We are the only advisor in this market for whom that is structurally true.

What happens in the session

The consultation runs for 60 minutes via video call. It is structured in four parts.

1
15 min

Your profile in context

Your academic qualifications are not just a list of grades. They exist in a context — the grading system of your country, the specific subjects you studied, the level of competition in your cohort, and how all of this translates into European university admission requirements.

If you studied the French Baccalauréat, the Indian CBSE, the Nigerian WAEC, the American high school diploma, or the International Baccalaureate — your advisor knows exactly what those qualifications mean in practice for the universities on your shortlist. Not what the university website says. What actually happens in admissions.

2
20 min

Your university shortlist

Working through 4 to 6 universities selected for your profile. For each one: what makes it a genuine fit for you specifically, what the real student experience looks like, what the weaknesses are, and what the entrance exam or interview involves.

This is not a brochure reading. Your advisor has assessed all {UNIVERSITY_COUNT} universities in our database using the same published criteria. They know where each one stands relative to the others and why.

3
15 min

Your application strategy

How many universities to apply to and why. Whether to aim high, aim safe, or both. How to sequence applications given different deadlines. What the total financial commitment looks like over six years including living costs.

This part of the session produces the clearest possible answer to the question every family is actually asking: what should we do, and in what order.

4
10 min

Your questions

Open time. Anything you have not yet asked. Anything your advisor has not yet addressed. Anything you want to think through out loud with someone who has no stake in your answer.

What you receive after the session

Within 48 hours of your consultation your advisor delivers a written summary document by email. This document is the core deliverable — the thing you keep, share with your family, and refer back to throughout the application process.

The written summary contains:

Your profile summary

How your advisor understood your academic background, your career goals, your constraints, and your preferences — written clearly so you can correct anything that was misunderstood.

Your recommended university shortlist

4 to 6 universities ranked in order of fit for your specific profile. For each university: the reasoning behind the recommendation, the application requirements, the deadline for your target intake, the entrance exam details if applicable, and the estimated total cost across the full degree including living expenses.

Your application strategy

How many applications to make. Which universities to prioritise. The sequencing by deadline. The key risks in your specific situation and how to mitigate them.

Your month-by-month action plan

A clear timeline from today to your target September intake. What needs to happen in each month. What can wait and what cannot.

Official application resources

For each recommended university — the direct link to the official application page, the admissions contact email, the document checklist, and the specific requirements for students from your country.

What happens next

A neutral presentation of your options for proceeding — applying directly to universities, using an application management service, or a combination. With direct links and honest assessments. We earn nothing from your choice.

Who delivers the consultation

route.doctor advisors are selected on three criteria.

Personal experience

Every advisor either studied at a European medical university themselves, guided a family member through the process, or has spent significant professional time working within European medical education. They know these universities from the inside — not from a fact sheet.

Deep knowledge

Every advisor is trained on the full route.doctor evaluation of all {UNIVERSITY_COUNT} universities — the scores, the methodology, the reasoning behind every assessment. When they recommend a university they are drawing on structured, documented analysis — not personal preference.

No conflicts of interest

Every route.doctor advisor signs an independence agreement before their first consultation. They receive no payment from any university, no referral fee from any application service, and no commission of any kind from any institution in the database.

Before your session

After booking you will receive a pre-session questionnaire. This takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Your advisor reviews it before the session so that the 60 minutes you have paid for is spent on analysis and advice — not on gathering basic information.

The questionnaire covers:

Your academic qualifications in detail — subjects, grades, grading system, year of completion
Your target degree — medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmacy
Countries you are considering and any you have ruled out
Your annual tuition budget
The country where you intend to practice after graduation
Your willingness to prepare for an entrance exam
Your city size preference and any lifestyle considerations
Your target intake — this September, next year, or exploring
Any previous applications and their outcomes
Any personal circumstances relevant to relocation
The specific questions you most want the session to address

The more detail you provide, the more precisely targeted the session will be. Advisors read every questionnaire response before the call.

The Satisfaction Guarantee

If at the end of your consultation you do not feel the session delivered genuine, actionable value — we refund in full. No questions asked. No process to follow beyond sending a single email.

We offer this because we are confident in what we deliver. And because an advisor who knows a refund is possible has every incentive to make the session as useful as possible.

This guarantee has never been invoked.

Frequently asked questions

For most students, yes. The session and written summary together give you everything you need to make a clear decision and begin applications. Additional consultations at €149 are available if your circumstances change — but they are not the norm.
Yes. Most sessions involve both the student and one or both parents. The session is most productive when the person making the decision and the person funding it are both present.
Good. Students who arrive having already researched universities get more from the session because the conversation can go deeper faster. Send us your existing shortlist in the pre-session questionnaire and your advisor will engage with it directly — agreeing where it is right, challenging where it is not.
Your advisor will have reviewed it before the session. The consultation builds on it — adding the human judgment, contextual knowledge, and honest assessment that the algorithm cannot provide.
Currently in English. We are building advisor capacity in French, Spanish, and Arabic. If English is not your strongest language, note this in the questionnaire and your advisor will adjust their pace and language accordingly.
Slots are available within 3 to 5 working days in normal periods. During peak season — June through September — demand is high and slots fill faster. Book as early as possible if your deadline is urgent.
Zoom or Google Meet — your choice. A link is sent with your booking confirmation.
Only with your explicit consent. If you would like a recording for your own reference, confirm this in the questionnaire.
Rescheduling is free with more than 24 hours notice. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session are non-refundable.
